Silk, gold and jasmineare not decoration.
They are the conditions the work has to survive.
Silk
Woven in three parts, joined at the border.
Kanchipuram holds its own weight — which is why it photographs like architecture.
Gold
Cast heavy, worn in layers.
Vanki, oddiyanam, temple work. Set last, because it changes the balance of everything set before it.
Jasmine
Measured in muzham, not in stems.
It wilts. It is the one part of the look with a running clock — and the part that frames the silhouette.

05 — The artist & her morning
Lana
Lana is a bridal and party transformation makeup artist based in Trichy, Tamil Nadu.
Her work moves between natural, HD and South Indian bridal looks — the register changes, the intention does not. Skin is treated as skin. Features are drawn out rather than drawn on. The bride is still recognisably herself at the end of the chair.

Her morning.
The wedding is a public event. The morning before it is not — it is the last few hours in which she is only herself. The order is fixed; the hours are not, because every morning is timed backwards from the muhurtham itself.
Before sunrise
The kit is laid out.
Nothing is decided at six in the morning that was not decided the week before.
The first brush
Skin, and only skin.
Cleanse, correct, protect. The base carries the entire day.
The hair
The jadai begins.
Base tension, volume at the crown, anchor points set before the braid is closed.
The flowers
Jasmine enters the braid.
Measured in muzham, not in stems — and from this moment there is a clock on it.
The silk
The saree is draped.
Silk that has to fall correctly, and stay fallen, for twelve hours.
The gold
The jewellery is placed.
Set last, because it changes the balance of everything set before it.
The mirror
She sees herself.

Pricing is quoted per wedding, not per price list.
Final pricing depends on event type, date, location, services and travel requirements. Send the date and the events and you will be given a figure for your wedding rather than a range that turns out not to apply to it.
